Taiwan's Taroko National
Park, near the east coast city of Hualien, is the site of the Takoro Marathon &
Half Marathon, and features spectacular views of the Taroko Gorge along
the Central Cross-Island Highway on Hualien's Wenshan Mountain. The race takes
runners along some of the area's most famous attractions, including Swallow
Grotto, Chulu Cliff and Tzumu Bridge. This year event will be the 10th year.
The event also includes a 5K race.
Registration is opens.
Race day is on November 7th. Full Marathon
(FM) cost NTD 900. Half Marathon (HM) at NTD 700 and 5km will cost
you NTD 300. Entry fee includes NT$100 Chip deposit (Chip deposit
will be refunded at the race on race day, No chip for 5km)
Both FM plus HM cap at 6500 runners. Runners can
enter from now until September 24, 2009, or until the race becomes full (whichever
comes first).
Note: Marathon and Half-marathon participants shall receive
2009 Taroko Commemorative Racing Singlets from K-SWIS9 and 5KM Fun Run
participants shall receive 2009 Taroko Commemorative T-shirts from K-SWISS
according to the sizes.
SPECIAL TAROKO MARATHON FAIR
In celebration of this year being the 10th
anniversary of the Taroko Marathon, a special fair will be held on the evening
before the race (November 6, 2009), featuring and displaying the warm
hospitality and joyful spirit of Taiwan’s indigenous people in Hualien.
Don’t miss out on the beautiful arts and crafts, delicious food/snacks, great
bargains and wonderful entertaining performances free and open to all!
Date and Time: November 6, 2009 beginning at 6pm
Place: The old former Hualien Railway Station Plaza located
near the intersection of Chungshan Road and Chungcheng Road (about 100 meters
westward of the intersection on Chungcheng Road). About 5 minutes by car from
the Hualien Train Station.

fee for FM and HM will be SGD 58.
